I have a 1960 AC D17 that I need to get rid of. I have neither the time nor money to keep the ole Lady running. I have been pretty successful at keeping it running, but it needs and engine (uses too much oil),or rings the main seal leaks also. It needs brake work and now it won't shift into gear, something with the linkage. It has new tires, but for most people would probably be a parts source oher than that. I will sell the whole thing for $1000, the tires cost that much. The catch? If anyone is interested they must take the whole thing. I have to find something else. Thanks

Hey if you happen to buy this guys tractor, I have a D17 engine that has good pistons, liners, etc---I bought a tracor with a bad engine--it had been froze up and broke the block. According to the guy I bought it from the tractor was in great shape prior to freezing. I'm in Kansas. If you do happen to be interested, let me know.

The tin is not the best in the world, definitely would require some work. The fuel tank and some of it is ok. I had the tank cleaned out not to long ago. The covers for the engine compartment and all are not on it, but I have them. When I got, it had been re-wired and the wiring is such you can't put the covers on. I am located in Hazel Green, Alabama about 1 and 1/2 south of the Tennesse line.

You are more than welcome to see it, like I said it has new tires and after that you pretty much get what you get. I had it running this past weekend, but the linkage in the transmission or something come loose and I can't even get it in gear. I have to get something that I don't have to spend so much time on trying to keep running. Really nothing to depend on to get what I need done. It was pretty much the way it is now when I got it, other than the tires and having the gas tank clean out. It has a different alternator, coil and the carb was rebuilt. Just let me know. You can reach me at virgil.walden@logsa.army.mil also.

Today's Featured Article - The Engine Rebuild Kit - by Curtis Von Fange. I always liked engine rebuild kits. They have all the replacement parts for overhauling an engine without going to the store to get gaskets, special measuring tools, or miscellaneous parts. They come neatly packaged, clean and tidy. But it's important not to let that packaging lull you into a false sense of security. The appearance of matching sleeves, pistons, rings, and bearings can cause frustration and agony if not properly measured and installed in a workshop environment. Following c ... [Read Article]
