Has anyone ever done this and what was done to adapt the motor to the clutch housing?

Greg,

Never heard of that one, but the 354 is a pretty long engine and it's pretty deep too--lot more cubes that the diesel in the WD45. We have one in a shrimp boat. If I remember right, it has an SAE 0 bell housing. Good engine though and frugal with fuel...

I had no idea the difference in size between the Perkins and the Buda... My Grandpa had the diesel 45's and I think they had gotten rid of them by the time I came along. We've got some Massey combines that we will part out in a few years with 354's in them... Maybe I'll give it a go.
