I am currently restoring a 1939 B and am having touble deciding what brand and exact color to use. I want it to be a nice bright and shiny orange but am afraid regular old allis chalmers orange is not what I am looking for. I would love any suggestions that may save me some time and money getting the right paint the first time. Thanks for any help, this is a really neat site and hope to maybe help somebody else with a problem someday!!!

Another source might be Krylon Farm and Implement # 1820 . Also marked Allis Chalmers. But it is difficult to find, So difficult in fact, it is the only paint in spray cans I have ever seen listed on Ebay. I used eight cans at about four bucks apiece. Nice match to the original. Regards, Rich

Hi John,

If you want that nice pumpkin shade of persian orange (persian orange #1, so called), that was original on all years of the B, then PPG OMNI 60080 is the one you want. third party image
You can get it mixed at any automotive paint supplier that carries PPG paints. It is available in both acrylic enamel and acrylic urethane versions.
