I have a 1957 WD45 and am having a problem with moisture getting in the oil. I am assuming that this could be a head gasket, cracked head, or any number of other problems. I would love to hear others' experiences with this problem. Also, I haven't been able to locate any information regarding removing the head. I have been told that there may be an order to removing the bolts, but have been unsuccessful at finding this information. I really don't want to warp the head or cause any other problems so any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is no reason to be concerned about bolt pattern when removing the head- only when retightening- then remember, start in the center, work side to side, alternating towards each end. Do not tighten to final torque in one sequence.

There is a freeze plug in the head under the rocker arms I think that can rust out. It could be the O rings that seal the liners to the block. To see, take off the pan and try and see where the water comes from. The blocks sometimes crack between cylinders. If at the top it doesn't matter much, if at the bottom it could leak there and you would need to seal it. There are various repairs if that is the problem. It could be a head gaslet too.

The first thing you need to do is get a manual I-T etc. There around $30 or less it has the info you need in it
