I have a WC with a wide front end that looks to be the same as those on the WD & WD45 the tube type. Although I have been told that this front end is not the original by a guy who deals in C & B parts at all the tractor shows. He stated the ones on the WC's were a rolled I beam type, sort of like some of the early B's but of a heavier build. The one I have is a tube type and looks to be original. I thought I had read that some WC's had this tube type wide front end along with the WD & WD45's. Who is correct? Thanks for your knowledge in advance.

If you are talking about the wide front from a WD/WD45 the B/C parts man is right. THe WD/WD45 front will work nicely, but is not original.

John I read somewhere that the last two years the WC was made came with the optional tube frame adjustable wide front. Which was the same as the WD and WD45. But the years prior to this the front end was the I-beam type? Is this not correct? Thanks

I stand corrected! I had to look it up, but the WC was offered with the adjustable wide front 47-48. Still may not be original to the tractor but it was offered, sorry for the misinformation.

Thanks for all your help in confirming this for me. You are also most likely correct in this is not a 47 or 48. Thanks Shawn

Take a look at tractor serial number and see what year it is and then start guessing...

Today's Featured Article - Timing Your Magneto Ignition Tractor - by Chris Pratt. If you have done major engine work or restored your tractor, chances are you removed the magneto and spark plug wires and eventually reached the point where you had to put it all back together and make it run. On our first cosmetic restoration, not having a manual, we carefully marked the wires, taped the magneto in the position it came off, and were careful not to turn the engine over while we had these components off. We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t ...
