If it will not move with the hand clutch in the forward or back position (high and low range) you may need to adjust the clutches or you could have a major problem. You did not say if the tractor made any strange noises when it stopped.

I agree with the other guy...get yourself an operators manual, but...guessing from what you've described, I'm wondering if your power director (lever you move with your right hand) isn't in the middle position---this would stop forward motion and leave the power take off running---its got to be forward or reward to move. good luck.

If this is the first tractor you have ever run, you need to buy an OPERATOR manual for it- to learn how to identify the controls, do basic maintenance, repairs, operation, etc. From your description, you probably hit the hand clutch lever while operating a pto machine. For your own safety, as well as the welfare of your offspring- so they can enjoy many more days with your existence- you need to know BASIC operation of the tractor you just bought. That is not meant to be cruel or sarcastic- it is just reality. You have a machine capable of killing you if you do not know how to run it. Learn how to run the tractor before you hook anything to it, whether it be a drawn or pto machine.

THanks for all the replys. The previous owner will give me his manual. It did not make any noise when it quit, However I was advised by the previous owner not to touch the hand clutch. The last time he did it shot a ball bearing out the bottom of the inspection cover which he welded shut. After It would not move I tried to move the lever forward and backward to no avail...Paul

PAUL,THE FOOT CLUTCH IS A DRY CLUTCH, THE HAND CLUTCH (POWER DIRECTOR) IS WET, AND YOUR CLUTCHES WILL LAST A LOT LONGER IF YOU USE IT. pto SHOULD BE ENGAGED ANYWAY WITH THE FOOT CLUTCH, THEN FORWARD MOTION ENGAGED WITH THE HAND CLUTCH. I HAVE 2 a/C'S AND USE THE HAND CLUTCH CONSTANTLY.
