I see there are governors for sale on this site...does anyone know what the assembly includes? Are they good quality or are they elcheapo's? I tried Sadylake equipment but I gasped at their price! Over 300 bucks for the assembly! Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Terry in Pa

Are you interested in a rebuilt one or would a used one work, in good shape? I think the ones from a C would work, but I'll need to check the parts book.
I think I have a used one and it would include the entire unit less rods. I don't think the rods are on it, but if interested I'll check. Price about $ 100.00, plus freight, no package cost.

Try Marshall Machinery in Honesdale, maybe get a used one?

Also Fry's in Pennsdale (near Williamsport) has a few on parts machines.....

Make sure you get one that matches your oil pump lines or you will be replumbing....

The older governors were not oiled by the oil pump. They depended on splash lube. Around serial 50000+, a small oil line was added that fed oil thru the top of the governor. This entailed changing the fittings back at the oil pump, and running a line up to the front of the engine. It is VERY small diameter tubing, not the stuff you would just have laying around. So, if your machine has the fittings, and the governor doesn't, you need to plug the T, or if your governor has lube, and you don't have the fittings, you have to get the T and the line. Or, you could just plug the governor. My opinion is the pressure lube is best idea.
Good Luck, keep us posted.
