I was wondering what size brush hog would work good for my Allis Chalmers D-14? I would like it to be wider than the tractor. Should I get a 6 or 7 foot hog? I am getting a pull behind model. I appreciate any help.

I have a 7 foot wide trailer type for my D-14. It handles it well for cutting grass up to 1-1/2 foot tall in second gear. I normally use low range to get a nice finish, otherwise you can go in high range. If you have really tall grass or other tough cutting you may have to overlap your cuts.

My D-14 is about 6 ft wide, but it will depend upon how you adjust the wheels for width. Mine is set up just wide enough to get tire chains on in the winter for plowing snow.
