We have a 6080 and a 6060 love both of them (not knocking the Ford).Ours don't have that many hours but they are good on fuel easy on and off. Have used both for pulling a 4 row planter work well. I think you wouldn't go wrong with either tractor. Jim

looked at one a number of years ago, seems like they had crank problems or something. i bought a new 7710 ford instead.probably isn't your best bet. i'd look for a low hour 185,there are a few out there.

The reason they had crank problems is that operators would leave the pto splines engaged and run all the time with the pto clutch lever in the off position. This put alot of stress on the crank through the belville springs inside the clutch assembly. If run properly they are a very dependable tractor. Agco does have a fix for any that have the floating crank problem, but it's probably a pretty expensive fix.

excellent planting tractor. a very comfortable tractor to operate. the older ones had a pto that jumped in kind of fast, but that was corrected in the series two. engine was a little noisy, but a cab would correct that. very dependable tractor with a lot of them sold and good resale value. while i grew up on allis chalmers and have a new agco allis, i would sure recommend the 7710 over the 6080.
