Hi, I am looking at putting a E motor in my WD. I have heard that I need to change the flywheel from some and not from others. Same with the clutch. Only forums I found were about the water pump being needed to have the bolt holes drilled oversize to match the e motor. Can any one help me with exactly what changes and modifications I will have to make and inform me of what nightmares I might possibly run into? I was hoping that it will be a fairly simple swap, not minding hard work and time and some minor changes, just do not want to do a lot of modifications and fabrications. What engine does the E have? I have 2 A2 engines and have been looking for a wide front wd to put one in. Mine are the 262 ci

The WD flywheel will bolt to the E motor with no problems. You already know about the the water pump. The other thing is the front pully on the E motor. Use the WD front pully. There is no hole in the crank of the E, one can be made with a drill. You can use the E pully,but you will have to shim the pully on the water pump out about a quater inch. Most people do this it's easier than drilling the crank. The steering universal joint will rub one of the exterior oil lines on the E motor. A good knock with a hammer will dent it enough for it to work. That should be about it,the best I can remember right now. Hope this helps. P.S. I think it is best if you machine off the front unused grooves of the E pully.

Thank you for your help. It doesnt sound as bad as I have heard from a couple, I think I will pursue the swap, now I'll have to find a place to get a WD-E decal made! thanks again, Shane
