I freed a CA stuck motor....what now?

I free a stuck CA motor, it was not badly stuck and it does not look like there was much damage to the cylinder walls. Should I take it completely apart and hone the walls and check the main bearings? Should I just clean it up and put it back together and go for it?? Any ideas on this one?

Depends on what you are going to do with it. If it is going to work hard or do something that oil consumption is going to matter(parades LOVE oil smoke) then I would keep going and tear her down. If it just a putt around tractor or light utility work clean her up and put her back together. Run it a while and see what else is wrong with the tranny, clutches,hydraulics etc. Good luck!

i had a similar engine, it had locked from water on pistons. rings "stuck" in the groves. i disassembled and honed, bore was way oversize. i bought $60 rings and $60 gasekts and reassembled. runs great. after setting that long you need to pull the sleeves and put new o-rings to kep water leakage out of the oil. good tire to wire brush everything and get ports clean, etc. ---as for the trans and final drives, you can change the oil and run next summer and see how it goes. probably notice a few leaks at the old leather seal. that could be another years project. dont paint it with expensive paint untill everything has been repaired and run for a month to check for lekas, etc.
