iam wanting to install a delco alternator on my tractor does any one have a good design they have made or a bracket i could make from thereoriginal

Its real easy, I just did it yesterday.True, you do have to readjust the mount just a smidgen,to the outer edge of the frame. Next, ream out the mounting holes to 3/8s diameter, so you can use a peice of threaded rod through the bracket, and the alternator using 6 nuts to snug everything down.Also it makes it easier to line up the pulleys.Bottom line,everything lines up,nothing is sticking out, and its solid as a rock. Give it a go.

I raised the alternator mount about 2" higher than the frame so that every thing fit nice and didn't have to remove any tin from radiator shroud like a lot of them I have seen. jerry

I'll be doing the 12 volt conversion this spring. how much do you charge for your alternator bracket? i imagine that it is a direct bolt on with no adjustments or any other modifications needed. if its reasonable i may be interested in 1 soon.

Use the original gen. bracket. Make a spacer to fill up the space in the bracket and use a bolt long enough to go all the way through. You will need to drill new holes in the frame because the bracket will need to be moved forward. Hope this helps.

I have taken a different approach on the 3 that I've done. I redrill the original "alternator" bracket to match the front hole in the frame and weld a "tail" on it to "reach out" to the rear hole in the frame.
