I have a 39 "B" and got a set of after market rims with bump outs at 45 degrees apart with welded squares on one of them. Got new rears mounted today and went to put centers in and found that the cleats want to go all the way to the inside of the rim, instead of the bumps. Well, thats allright I made another trip to town to get longer bolts to accomidate the difference. Got one center on, bout straight and centered. Guess what..... the cleats and bolt heads hit the top part of the rear end assy. What am I doing wrong. or Did this ole girl have the wrong cleats. Thanks in advance...

Dale, im not sure i understand what you have. The original rims had 4 raised sections or "bumps" at 90 degrees apart. You slide the rim over the cast steel hub (20 inch diameter) that is bolted to the axle. The 4 raised "bumps" on the rim set next to the hub, either on the inside or the outside of the hub, depending on the total rear width youo want to obtain. NExt you have 4 1/2 moon locks that bolt to the cast hub and the curved section of the moon sets on the rim "bump" Two of the half moon locks have "cam" bolts in them and the push outward and wedge aginst the rim as you turn the bolt head. One of the locks sets between to welded blocks on one of the rim "bumps" and that keeps the rim from slipping under torque. There is no way for the mounting bolts to hit the final drive case unless they are extremely long. Did i miss something? Sorry if i dont understand, maybe someone else can add something. On a second note, many replacment rims have 4 hoops and are similar to the international rims. on these you just use 4 bolts and 4 nuts and bolt the rim straight to the cast hub.

Sorry the bumps are 90 degrees. Roughly measured center pieces and they are a little over 20 inches. Everything Steve said makes sense until I put the bolt (Cam or not) thru the centers and try to slide on the "lock". The "lock" is to high to set nicely on the rim before the bump. I think I have the wrong locks. As you can see from the picture, these are the ones I have and two in a set have a larger diameter hole for the cam bolts. Everything else looks and acts to correct. you got the right idea, but no, those are not allis locks. dont know what they fit, but it is not for a C or B.

LOOK LIKE THE WRONG LOCKS TO ME. SOLID LOCKS ARE SMALLER THAN THE CAM LOCK ONES AND WILL FIT BETWEEN THE TWO WELDED BLOCKS LOL BOB
