What is the correct paint color for the wheels on a 1955 WD45?

Dave, go over to the "Unofficial Allis-Chalmers" (Allis-Chalmers.com) and you will see a recent post of a set of WD-45 wheels that were "hot dip" galvanized. Beautiful, and it only cost him $75. for the two!!

The originals were galvanized steel. There is a spray on galvanize paint but I've never used it. If you can find an outfit that does galvanizing of large items, you might be able to work out a deal with them. A lot of people just use aluminum (silver) paint. I think that looks just a little "too silver". I've used "Argent Gray" spray cans. This is the color used on a lot of the "rally" wheels on the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s and is available most everywhere automotive touch-up paint is sold. It looks pretty good to me.

All WD45 rear wheels were silver rims with orange wheel centers. Centers are the pressed steel portion, what you bolt on to the tractor. Four cast parts, with the eccentric bolts, were also orange.
