It may help to loosen the LEFT frame rail in order to slide the steering gear box out. If you loosen the right frame rail you will break the seal between the rail and the belt pulley drive hole and dump the hydraulic system oil. Also to loosen the frame Left rail you will need to remove the engine forward mount support left attaching bolt. When you reattach the engine forward mount support be sure you install the tapered washer correctly on the frame rail leg. The tapered washer is placed on the rail to provide a flat surface for the bolt head to bear against. While you are at the forward engine support check the two bolts that hold the engine to the support to be in place. They are missing a lot of times. There should be a negative .005" clearance between the engine block and the support. Someone may want to double check the .005" dimension as I don't have my manual at hand.

0.005 is correct.

God Bless.

You need to find the entire front unit- including the cast steering box. Remove eight bolts, disconnect the steering shaft, and switch units.
