Allis CA compression

My CA has 100 LBS compression on all Cylinders, is that good compression. Also will a B or C cylinder head fit the CA. I am getting lots of smoke after it idles. Been told that oil is being sucked down thru guides.

Do another compression check with a little oil in the cylinder and see if it reads the same. If it increases only a little than the guides are most likely the problem, if it jumps alot than the rings are letting the oil by.

Rebuilding the head will probably be your best bet here. Any competent machine shop should be able to handle this with a minimal outlay of $$. Replacing a head might fix it, but unless you are able to check out a cylinder head to see if it is in good shape, you might not get a better head than what you have. Some folks will tell you their head has been "completely rebuilt", when in actuality, it's just been cleaned and painted.

The heads will work. You can mix and match engine parts on all four engines. B, C, CA, and RC.
