I just wanted to share my excitement with you folks.I'm the proud owner of my first Allis Chalmers as of 12/27/03. I'm the lucky one who purchased the 1963 D17 that was listed here in the photo ads for sale by Eddie Edington of Oakwood, Illinois. The tractor is just as advertised, an unabused original. If the paint job was not 40 years old, you'd never guess the tractor was built in 1963. As advertised, it runs perfect and everything is there and in place, just as it was when it rolled out of the assembly plant. One of the best parts of this deal was working with Eddie. It's always an honor to meet and do business with someone who lives by the same rules as I do myself. That's with honesty and integrity. I feel very fortunate to be the one who ended up with this D17. It's a rare find.

Great, you will learn way more than what you pay! And be able to ask intelligent questions if the manuals don't answer your questions. Do change ALL the oils, including the final drives, and keep a good boot on the shift lever, water gets into the transmission through a ripped or missing boot.
