Is anyone famyliar with D15 model and can give me a hand on a problem? Would not start, has rebuilt starter , new battery, new distibuitor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires. Checked the valves and the pistons for movement, they move ok without the plugs in place. Once I put the plugs back in engine has a hard time crancking, spins once, then it acts like it has a weak battery, I even jumped it from another vehicle, same thing.
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible that you have the wrong plugs and the top of the piston is hitting them?

Everything looks good with the plugs, I pulled them out few times and checked them. Today I got new battery wires and changed where the ground wire used to be, and yes it fired up. Runs good now, but I think i still have to adjust my timing, I'm loosing spark after I shut it down , and now it crancks but I gets no spark. Oh,well something to mess around with tommorow!!!!
Thanks for the help

Florin, I'm confused. Did the tractor spin over good with the starter or did it run on its own? Did it spark while cranking and didn't run on its own? Sounds like your making progress! Dale

Yes Dale, I'm making progress. Starter wasn't my problem, it did the same thing after I had the starter rebuilt, then I got new thick wires for the battery terminals, changed the location of the ground wire, and put another new battery in it. It cranks over nice now, and it fired up wright the way. After I shut it down it would crank over but never fired up. There was no spark at the plugs. Adjusted the distribuitor then it fired up. Looks like everytime I shut the engine off and then try to start it again I loose my spark. I will clean the shaft for the pointer today, looks rusty, see if that will help. Sorry for the long story, I'm excited that at least I heard it run!!!!
Thanks for the help
