can some one help me?Ihave been told this is a 39 model an I have been told it is not.It has foot brakes,hyd,3point hitch,electric start,wide seat magneto,the number on it is B24291. some one please help me .

My 1939 has foot brakes, electric start, belt/PTO/hydraulic unit. As far as I can tell it probably is a pos-war tractor with the trans replaces, thus the 1939 serial number. I have heard that some of the later transmissions were prone to junping out of gear (probably after being shifted on the move), and that the "cure" was to swap in an early trans.

might have been modified a little from 1939. should have hand brakes, so they were probably changed. the hydraulics should be a small pump on the right rear corner of the PTO shaft housing. any thing else is aftermarket. tractor had no 3 point originally, definitly added later on. may not have had electric starter or generator. see if the base of the generator has cast boss (two threaded holes) on the motor block to hold the mount. easly enough to change the torque tube and add starter in last 50 years. do you have a regular battery box behind the gas tank, under the steering column? is the sheetmetal in front of the box trimmed to fit the battery box?

According to serial number you gave and serial number reference on this page(under research and Info heading) it is indeed a 1939 model.
