I have a Model C almost restored and need to replace the oil in the steering pedestal and the transmission fluid. The manuals don't specify what weight oil for the steering pedestal and what type of transmission fluid to use. Please advise.

the transmission/differential/pto housing takes 8 quarts of hydraulic-trans fluid. you get it at Wal Mart or Farm Store in 8-10 quart jugs. it is a 20 wt non foaming oil. the steering box should be 90 wt gear lube like the final drives. i however prefer to pump grease into the steering box till it comes out around the top shaft. either is fine, grease will not leak thru the side bushing if it has a little wear.
