Does anyone know of an electronic ignition conversion for a 45? I got to thinking about this on the road last night and thought it would be a nice upgrade for my orange mule.

I used a pertronix 12 volt electronic ignition kit in my wd-45 and it so much better than points. I went the extra step and added a msd 6a ignition amplifier and heavy plug wires and blaster2 coil. Sucker starts and runs smooth in 2 Degree weather with about half a spin of the crank.

' If yours is like mine, it really won't "spin over" with 6 volts...!! I put 12 Volt + ground on mine, and it is Great..!! had to change the lite bulbs, and went to an alternator ( old Ford ).. Now, I can jump-start the rest of them...!!

I'm sure Pertronix has a kit that will fit. You can do a search for "pertronix" using the search button on your browser. There is also one available through this web page, but I can't find the location here.

Most kits require 12 volts, negative ground. Pertronix might have one that doesn't. If you haven't converted to 12/negative, you may need to do so first.

Seek out the Geneesee Products folks on this site and purchase their kit. I put one of their kits in my WD45 and have been well satisfied with it.

Thought I just saw Petronix ignition in Eastwood Automotives catalog, and they had them for 12 and six volt.
