I have recently acquired a Allis Chalmers Road Grader (a model D, I think) The serial #is D-5283. Does anyone know the year? Anyone have an operators manual or know where I can get one.
Frank

Your Grader is a 1957 production model.

The serial #s for that year for the gasoline Model D Grader ran from 5040 to 5300.

I have a Model DD (Diesel) which I have restored and use for my own personal use.

I forgot to mention that I have the original parts book if you need any parts information. I can't help you with an operators manual. My machine has a cab and all the servicing requirements are listed on a servicing label adhered to the inside of the cab.

I have a Model D grader. The serial number is 5424 and it was listed as a 1960. They are a great machine. I know of two others in my area. One is much older than mine and is in regular use by a paving contractor. The second machine is being restored simply to drive in parades.
I want to retire soon and plan to use mine as a retirement hobby grading private driveways.
I would like to find a parts machine so that I can make some modifications to mine.
