I want to run a notch hotter plug in my C (1944). The engine is stock and she only runs 1/2 hour at a time. Thought I might get a bit more performance and cleaner burn this way.

What plug shall I use?

Try Champion J19LM. This plug is used on 2 cycle engines and is hotter than the J8C specified. Good luck Brian

I've been told that using resistance type plugs can shorten magneto life. So I try to find old style plugs for my magneto equiped tractors whenever possible. They are getting harder to find. And does anyone know if this is really true. Thanks. TED

Ted, don't know if resistor plugs would hurt mags, I guess if you had access to a scope, you could check the voltage requirements to fire each type of plug. If you do let us know. Always trying to further my A-C knowledge. Brian
