Hi, guys. I'm wondering what the major differences between the 7000 and 7010 are. I'm considering purchasing one of these tractors 'cause they seem to be a pretty cheap way to get cab/heat/a.c. They appear to be essentially the same tractor, 7000 being older of course. Are there any real differences?

The 7010 has many improvements over the 7000. They are wet disk brakes, closed center hydraulic pump, heavier duty transmission and rear with the 16 speed power director or 12 speed power shift transmission and pressure lubrication to the transmission and rear. Also there is a torque limiter on the flywheel instead of a mechanical clutch on the flywheel. A much better machine.

i bought a 7010 new in 1980, best tractor i've ever had, well made and fuel effeicent over the ih and jd's i've had. it's still going strong and very few problems. i pull 5-16" plow and 21 ft disk and 8-row planter with it. i would buy another in a heart beat!!

That's great to know. I assume you have duals on your tractor? Hub mount or snap-on? I have an 8 row mounted planter (JD 7100) that the old 8000 (Ford) picks right up. Reckon the A-C would do the same? What's the most major problem you've had w/it? Thanks.
