Ryan, it should be 20 weight regular motor oil, non foaming, non detergent. The hydraulic pump uses the same oil. Have a good day and God Bless.

When I was a kid (some time ago now) they had a 45 on eht farm where I worked. The story was the AC dealer said to put 20 weight in the transmission as they and a problem with the clutch slipping. This was supposed to be a factory approved substitution, if there was a slipping problem. The manual says 80/90 gear oil I know. When the transmission on the above tractor got warm you could shift it without using the foot clutch because of the thinner oil. This tractor got a lot of use and there was never any problem with it because of using 20 weight. I might try the "tractor lubes" now, which are made more for gears than 20 weight engine oil. Then again there is nothing wrong with 80/90 either.

My WD operators manual says "TRANSMISSION CLUTCH - Lubrication - From transmission and differential filler plug. SAE 80E.P." (I don't know what EP stands for). Also, "Clutch release bearing-lubricate aproximatly 10 to 20 hours with chassis grease. Fitting can be reached by removing small cover at bottom of clutch housing. Lock clutch pedal forward to locate fitting so it may be reached with gun". I didn't know this. I will look at mine.
Good luck, Tom

EP stands for "extreme pressure". Normally it refers to the fact that it can take the extreme pressure gears put on the oil as the teeth mesh together. Robert
