..... .when I go to tractor shows I see some of the WD45s have a fork shaped bracket to "catch' the hand clutch lever when you pull it all the way back towards you..... .my WD45 doesn't have one, so the clutch lever flops around and smacks me in the knee cap..... ..I notice not all WD45s have this bracket....by the way it looks like the bracket can be adjusted by means of a wing nut....was it an option or did it just come on certain types of WD45s?..... .thanks for any information you might have and tips on installing such a bracket..... .
Good luck to all!
Bo

Bo, I just took one of the brackets that you descibed off of a parts WD45 that I have. I also have the rubber stop that mounts in front of the hand clutch and stops it's forward motion. They need some paint but are in decent condition. If you're interested in them let me know. Thanks, Tim

..... .thanks Tim.....luckily, I found both brackets at a local tractor salvage yard.....glad to get them too..... .the bureaucrats at the state EPA are trying to shut my salvage guy down.
Good luck to everyone!

Bo, you can adjust the clevis at the bottom of the hand clutch lever that goes to the throw out arm so the lever won't be whackin' you in the knee. After mine did that to me a couple of times, I was headed for the torch to make a "minor" adjustment when I found that adjustable clevis.

Hope I can save you a sore knee....

That "bracket" is connected to the drawbar system and was available on both WDs and 45s. It's main purpose, from what I understand is to "kick" the clutch out when you struck a rock while plowing. I don't use my WD for plowing but I have "kicked" the clutch out a few times while pulling stumps.

yes brian is right --A SAFETY FOR PLOWING UNDER ROCKY CONDITIONS to keep the operator out of the steering wheel --believe me as we have rocks--was a option on the d-series also--hooked to the power director
