Does the 1952 CA use a magneto? This part is missing on my tracor and I have no idea what part I need. I have read that when the normal battery ignition came about the mag was replaced with a distributor and coil...is this true?

Rod I believe coil/distributor was standard on the CAs after 1950...either should interchange.

Yes that is true. I was trying to find you a photo of the CA distributor but have not come up with it yet. I have posted them before so I know they are in my fotki albums somewhere.

Thanks a lot, when you get those pictures I would greatly appriciate them. This is going to be quite a restoration project, the guy has lost many of the parts and has no idea what they look like or where they might happen to be....makes the task a bit harder but this makes the hunt that much more enjoyable....
