CA bushog and weights

I have a 52 CA and I am ready to install a 5' bushog onto it. I am wondering how much weight to put onto the front? By the way, I am attaching the weights to the two front holes (5/8" thread, I believe) that are just above the front axle.

Also thanks to those who advised me how to fix my clutch, the pressure plate was split.

you are pivoting about the rear axle. if you put a 300 pound mower, 3 feet behind the axle, that is 900 ft pound moment. to counterbalance that you are putting weight about 6 ft forward of the rear alxe, which would be 150 pounds to keep the balance exactly as it is now. i put 200 pounds on the front of a B that i have a heavy blade and 3 point hitch. sounds like a lot of weight, but it is very well balanced.

I just mounted a 4 footer on a CA and didn't need any extra front weight. If I were you I would mount the mower first and then see if you need extra weight. Then just add enough to be able to turn adequately.....unless you plan on going up some steep hills. Then you will need more. Be careful how you bolt the weights to the front "ears". I've heard of them breaking off. The factory weights bolted to the torque tube and the ears.
