i am going to have to replace my hyd. cylinder on my b. the local tractor supply store has cylinders .but they are double action with a place for 2 lines where as mine is ,i think is a single action with only one line.my question is will the double action cylinder work on my allis b thanks

You need a vented plug on the rod end. This lets the air out as the pison moves up the bore.

Als, be careful of the side of cylinder. The tractor does not have a big resevoir and running it dry will destroy the pump. I think the biggest they recommend is like 2x8 or so.

Good point on the vent plug at the rod end. Where are those available? Do they have some sort of small filter to keep trash out of the bore?

Wilburn,

I can't be 100% sure but believe that will work. You'll only have to connect the the 1 line and leave the upper port plugged. The only part I wonder about is whether the double acting cylinder needs the oil on the upper side for lubrication of the seals. Ask the salesman to consult with his supplier, but I think you'll be OK.
