The 262 is an Allis engine. Same engine that the D 19 tractor had. The only Chevy Inline 6 engines used in gleaners were the 250 and 292. Later John

The engine is a Chevy. THere is a junk farm equipment dealer around Bristol (or Bristolville?), OH not "too far" from the Trumble/Ashtabula Co. line. I think.. but not sure as I haven't been there, they are on Rt 46???? I found them on a web search and have that info somewhere at home. Have yous tried Sandy Lake implement in Sandy Lake,PA or Elders in Stoneboro, PA (they used to be a good dealer for Oliver's ect. but may be able to help with AGCO stuff now??) They are both a bit closer than Whitmer's in Columbiana. There used to be small AC dealers all over Ash. county but most died off about 25-30 years ago.

I assume function is the mission here and not show. If so, your local auto parts store should have a generic electric fuel pump that would not be difficult to install...

I think that engine is a 262 Chevrolet six. The one in my F Gleaner is. All the Chevrolet parts fit.

I put one on my CII about a dozen years ago. I picked it up from my local Allis Dealer. Have you checked with an AGCO dealer?

Try getting in touch with Haney Equipment company in Athens, AL. He has been an Allis dealer since about 1967 or 1969 and handles the AGCO ALLIS and Gleaner products in that area. He may have a NOS unit if it is not currently available in the AGCO catalogs. There are still a lot of old Gleaners running in that area. His parts department always served us well.

I don't know about the Gleaner thing. Those combines sure did "GLEAM" in the sun when all the galvanized tin was new!

The GREEN neighbors called our Gleaners Silver Seaders, and we retorted with The Long Green Line
(refering to the thrown over grain that sprouted behind their Deeres!)
