Just bought an AC 190 XT (about a '64)and it takes a while for the steering to work. Previous owner says it worked fine prior to a recent hyd oil change and suspects air in the system. Does this sound right? Are they tough to bleed?

Thanks,
Ted

sounds like it could be low on fluid I just sold one of those all I had to do to get the steering working well was fill it with fluid and sit there for 5 to 10 minutes and run the steering back and forth all the way and it started to work very well let me know if this doesn't work I still have the shop manual on itand I'll look it over if that doesn't work by the way hows the tranmission they are known to have problems

Thanks,

I did not personally check the fluid and will in a couple weeks when I get back to it. Aside from steering and rubber the trans everything else is in good shape.

I'd watch the tranmission they are weak also do not shift it on the fly that is what takes out the tranny
