i have a 1948 wc i was driving it yesterday and it stuck in 2nd gear and wont shift. the shifter will move just dosnt change the gears. any ideas?

Sounds like the shifter jumped out of the forks.
Pull the shifter plates, line up the forks.Then start looking at the shifter. WC's didn't have the best one. and 50-60 years of wear doesn't help! Look under the shift boot to be sure the snap ring is still in the groove, then it's time to check the bottom of the lever for wear, and your forks too. Mine jumps out about twice a year. I've gotten by with paying more attention when shifting so I get a solid shift.
