Jay, If your tank isn't dented bad and only has pinholes, you can clean and seal the tank for many years of "like new" service.

I'v sealed several and it's easy. No more leaks, no rust and no worry.

What do you clean and seal with?
I repaired the one pin hole with a special pop rivet that is closed on the end and some Proseal. Proseal is an aviation product used to seal aircraft fuel tanks. The leak is stopped for now, but I know more will soon follow.

Jon, What style tank? My 1939 tank fastens from underneath, all my later Bs fasten from above. I have a nice no-dent spare for 1939 but my later styles have some dents. I recommend coating inside all older tanks with Kwik Poly or equiv.
Advise if interested.

APPLY 2 LAYERS OF FIRBEGLASS TO THE GAS TANK AND IT WILL STOP THE LEAKS. THEN COAT THE INSIDE LOL

Mine has a strap welded to the back with a through bolt. There is also an independant strap that holds it down over the top.
I am trying to source a tank a little closer to home, and I may solder mine up for the time being and wait for the next time it leaks (it has been soldered many times before it would appear.)
But, I may be interested in yours, even with dents. This is a working tractor, and the current tank has a few dents (and lots of rust inside evidently). How close are you to Burlington VT?
