What kind of lube is used on these o-rings when installing the liners?

Back in the old days my dad used brake fluid. You will probably get an argument on this but brake fluid is not supposed to hurt rubber from what i hear.

One point to remember about silicon rubber is to be sure and clean off the excess silicon rubber on the oil side. Otherwise, a small piece of silcon rubber may get sucked into the oil pump and create havoc.

There are many opinions on this one. Oil, grease, Silicone spray, O ring lube, gasket sealer, and some I don't remember. I wonder if the silicone gasket maker wouldn't be good as it would help seal. Although with good preperation the O ring should seal by itself. Some advise against a oil or grease saying it will eat the O rings, but I think they are Buna n, which is ok with oil and grease, and besides there is oil in the crankcase.
