CA snap coupler

I have a CA with a snap coupler and despite changing out the broken spring for the latch, the spring doesn't keep the hook up around the eyelet of the draw bar. I would like to be able to tow my single axle landscape trailer with the tractor for hayrack rides this Halloween, but when I put the trailer's tongue on the draw bar, it raises up the drawbar in the snap coupler to the point that it looks as if it may uncouple. Any suggestions on how to ensure a safe hook up?

On my WD I had to do some welding on the hook of the snap couple to keep it from releasing the drawbar. I have had no trouble since.

Make sure the little chain that releases the snap-coupler is not too tight. Should have some slack in it.

I think you probably have the spring in wrong. It is pretty tough to get the pin in when it is in correctly.
