A.C. road grader

I have an old AC road grader with 2 big hand wheels to raise and lower the blade it has a WC or WD engine on it any ideas of what the year of it might be

You may very well have a W - speed patrol ---OR a WC that was converted. You can tell probably by the welding on the frame extension near the radiator. If it is indeed a W the plate is located I think with 99% that it is on the right side below the magneto, but on the tractor frame itself. I pour a fair amount of cement, and always welcome a laugh when I unload it off the trailer, then after the first hour of work I get my little smart remark back at them. I have lots of paper, a parts manual, and pictures if I can help you later on this winter. Dave NE Iowa

I was told it was called a AC motor grader and it was built around 1946 and as far a pictures I didn't see any

What you have is a W Speed Patrol. There were two production runs, 1940-1942 when 678 were built and 1945-1950 when 3073 were built. Someone may be able to tell you where the serial number is so the year can be narrowed down.

it was called a speed control and most built in the late 1940s. click on "tractor photos" at the left of the page under "galleries", then do a serch for "patrol" and look at the photos.

that is what it looks like other then my machine is Allis orange the engine is weak but one of these days that will be fixed I have been looking at an Allis WC to use to replace the weak engine but so far haven't had the money to get it but who knows maybe I'll sell 1 of my other toys so I can get it
