A friend wants me to put a set of points and condenser in his AC-C. I owned one many years ago, and if I recall, the mag was a little tricky on getting it timed after installing points. I think that there was a gear inside of the mag. housing that can be tricky. Can someone give me pointers (on pun) on this procedure before I start?
Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan,

For an FMJ mag the large fiber driven gear will have a letter "C" marked on the gear face in the valley between two teeth. It can be hard to see. Wipe the gear carefully and use a magnifying glass if necessary. Do not use any solvent. This valley needs to mesh with the dogeared tooth on the metal pinion gear.
