I need to know a ruff estimate of how much a D 17 wide front is worth. It has good tin, one flat back tire, and a recent overhauled engin. The tractor has been sitting in a shed for probably 10 years with out being run. It is located in PA. I do not have a serial number or any thing else at this time. Also, what years were the D 17's made???

Book price for an early D17, say 1960, in fair condition is about $3000-3100. If both rear tires need replacing subtract off $800-1000.
I hope this gives you your ball park.

The D-17 was made from '57 to '68. There were a few changes made along the way. The most important one has to be the series 4 with a much improved hydraulic system. This series had a low pressure high volume pump as compared to earlier high pressure low volume models. The high volume model makes for the best type for loaders on a tractor. I wouldn't be impressed with an engine with low hours after a rebuild that has sat with out being run for ten years. Its very likely to be stuck, or at the very least, rusty internally. Look inside the pan before you try to run it to be sure.
