Chip:

Your AC grader 145 139 is a Model 145. Your particular machine (#139) was built in 1959. This 145 model was built from 1959 to 1963 and it had a 80hp Allis-Chalmers D-344 engine, the 344 standing for Cubic Inches. This gal weighed 21,540 pounds and had a standard 12 foot Roll-Away moldboard. In total they produced 497 of these machines between 1959 and 1963. They could also be fitted with a V-Plow and a wing plow and the hydraulics could exert 5 tons of downward blade pressure

chip, they made a 45 in the 1950 era, that was bigger than the D or DD. i believe it had a 6 cylinder diesel. you might check the guys at www.ibdozing.com and ask for info.

Can you email me an image? I thought the larger (12ft) A-C graders had GM motors. Also, currently on Ebay.com there are quite a feww old A-C grader adds for sale, some with specs.
cheers
