I have located a D15 gas with a hydro bucket and hoe that knocks and smokes but operates. It is quite rusty, but all there and in descent working order. How much would it cost to rebuild the engine? I can fix the body. I can get it for $850. Is this a lost cause or should I buy it to repair. I just want it for general acerage maintanence.
Thanks

you could sell the hydo-bucket alone and probably get enough for the rebuild. You are not making a mistake buying it. Especially if its just worn out, not cracked anywhere. Terry

If you want a project, and ou want to save a good tractor, you will end up with a nice one. I would do it. Maybe see if I could knock a couple hundred off the price, but I would do it for the $850 too.

If you get the machine for $850.00, then figure $800.oo for rebuild kit, figure a couple hudred more for other necessities you run into. you would have just under $2000.00 invested. What can you by that compares to it for 2 grand. Also, the Allis is a very reliable and forgiving machine. Hope this helps put it in perspective.
