I'm trying to figure one out here. I have a 44 C and it has a distributor and coil on it. Reading in the archives people have said they didn't put distributors on until around 1952. If this is true then it starts to make sense because the I and T manual says the C only came with a mag and the CA came with distributor. The distributor numbers for the CA are a Delco-Remy 1111735. The distributor on my C is a 1111411. My guess would be that some one did a swap, but then the oil line that feeds the governor should have a tee and a line off that to the distributor. But the Distributor drive housing doesn't have a hole drilled and tapped for the line. Is this setup ok or should I do something to either get oil to the drive or put a mag back on. thanks, Mike

Mike, The distributor drive housing has grease in it to lubricate the shaft and the worm gear which meshes to the distributor drive gear. Really not neccessary to run an oil line to it, that's why there's no provision for it. As long as there's grease in the housing, you should be fine.
It might have been changed over sometime in it's life from a mag to distributor, or maybe it was ordered that way. Anything is possible I guess...

Thanks Steve, By the way I think I read somewhere that you sell a lot of wiring and electrical stuff and I was wondering if you had a simple wiring kit for a C. I still want to keep it 6 volt positive ground because someone did a good job of "Afro-engineering" a negative ground system.
