I have a 1944 C in the barn and in the process of getting it running. Its been in there for about 10 years now and was prepped before parking.(Oil in cylinders, anti-freeze to -40, etc.) I got a few questions. One, where the oil line threads into the governor through the throttle pivot is loose, but the pivot pin itself is loose and I'm not sure if it just was pressed in or was timed in any way. The end that is pointed down is knurled if that helps in anyway. Secondly, how was the starter actuated. On the bottom of the starter the rocker to hit the button is there but no rod or linkage to the steering column. If my memory serves me right there were both a rod that ran along the torque tube or a pull ring like a WD-45, depending on the year. That's all I've got for now so any or all replies will be appreciated. Thanks

The pivot pin is pressed in. It is not uncommon for them to get loose. Loctite makes a product that works well for this. I don't remember the number off hand. Any automotive store will point you to it when you tell them what you need it for.
The C used what is called a pigtail kick starter rod. You use your heal on it and it runs thru an ell bracket the fastens in the back battery box fastening hole on the torque tube. They put a pull rod on the CA's but to use that type of rod you would have to get a CA gas tank with the indentation or the rod would rub on the tank.
