lifting capacity wd45

How much weight can a wd45 tractor lift with the three point? Given plenty of weight on the front end, and a very sturdy three point hitch (factory snap coupler three point conversion) I can purchase a fairly substantial three point backhoe for real cheap, but currently it is living on the back of a lil ford which cannot lift it. Need to know if I can use the ol 45 or, need to rethink this. BTW backhoe is about 900 miles away so simply trying it out is not an option.

In addition to the lifting and overall strength capacities, you need to take into consideration the hydraulic pump system into consideration.

Consider this, AC designed its pump to operate at very high pressures (3500 PSI compared to the normal 2000 PSI of most systems) to be used with relatively small diameter hydraulic cylinders with small fluid capacity, both cylinders and pump reservoir (sp?). If you mount an aftermarket implement that uses the larger cylinders you may find yourself running short on fluid capacity with AC's system.

Of course, if the three point implement has its own hydraulic pump, say driven off the PTO, then the above won't be a concern.

yes the backhoe has its own pump running off pto. The hoe was on a IH M with no problems, the lil furgeson to20 its on now doesn't have the wight to lift it, tractor front raises up. I have no idea what the hoe weighs, but it has a 12" bucket so I am figuring about 700-1000 lbs. I was just wondering if for occasional use, if the 45 would do till something larger came along. The unit has outriggers for stability, but my tractor has no front end loader, and it is a NF so might not be the greatest setup. I do have an HD6G and a very old M crawler with a baker blade that might be a more stable setup.

Any ideas on what sort of tractor to look for that would be suitable and fairly reasonable?

Sounds like a bad idea to me. My WD can lift a 1500 lb bale, but hates every second of it. One of these days I'm gonna snap a lift arm, or buckle a lift cylinder, or shell out my pump. My dad has a 3 pt back hoe on a large Case tractor and it has pretty much tore up the 3 pt on it. I'd either find a bigger tractor or just go rent a hoe when you need one.

I have had experience with a three point backhoe on only one farm tractor that was considerably bigger than WD45 and it was not satifactory. In my opinion a WD45 is not heavy enough.
