Help,, don't know what is wrong with the 185, she runs good, starts good, but after it has been running for several hours it seems to be getting short of fuel. The filter will be full of air, and hard to start and will surge, even die. I have no leaks in the fuel system. Or at least I can't see any, you know with a diesel you will see the leak, it will attract alot of dirt. I have changed many filters, but nothing changes. Could it be the pump?? As you can see I need help, thanks Oly

I had problems with my AC-185 and it was the check valve on top of the pump. It was stuck shut and would not let the extra fuel run back into the tank. it would run , but not good. you can take the line off the top of the check valve real easy and see if fuel is running out.

My father has a AC 185 and it set over all winter and now will not start. We have cleaned sludge out of the bowl and new fuel. Also tried blowing out lines. Any other suggestions to getting it to started. We can put spray e-ther in carb and it will run for a while. Any suggestions appreciated?

Oly, if not a small leak--which can leak air but not fuel--then it sounds like there is a plugged line or restriction upstream from the filter. Have you tried disconnecting a line and allowing fuel to run out? Perhaps there's something in the fuel tank that is partially obstructing the flow? (maybe a bit of float?) The filter being full of air would indicate that it's either a slight leak and/or "starving" for fuel. You could also try a temporary line from the tank to the filter(s) inlet. Another suggestion would be to place a 5-gal can of fuel on the operator's platform and run a line to the filter(s) from it. That would narrow down the problem.

check the seals at the sediment bowls.They may leak air and not fuel. Drove me up the wall trying to find problem
