Hello Is there a such thing as a delco 12 volt conversion kit for a 1950 Allis WD with the genorator mod and Ser.
Mod/1101413 Ser/ 1A15
or is that already a 12 replacement generator number.
what would the 12volt kit include and what would it involve because if its like redoing a starter/generator it will be fine.
Thank alot!

you have three different options if you want a 12 volt system. One is to install a 12 volt voltage regulator on your 6 volt generator. It will work, but you dont get a lot of current output. (5-10 amps)
--second, you can get a generator for a 1958 chevy truck and its voltage regulator and install both. probably $100. for generator and $25 for regulator. (this has about 30 amps output)
--third, you can install a 12 volt alternator withan internal voltage regulator, from a 1975 chevy pickup for $40. (about 60 amps)
--figure out which way you wnt to go, then ask more questions. Go to NAPA or AUTO Zone and take a look at the generator and alternator to get a better idea.
