I have a D-17 diesel with a cracked head. I also have an engine off of a C combine. It is the AC 262 6 cylinder gas engine. It is the cubic inch displacement as the diesel. Does anybody know if this engine will fit into the D-17? Will the frame and engine fit together and how much will I have to rig together? I don't plan on using the tractor much it's just a side project. Is this worthwhile or would it be better just to find a new head for the diesel. Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

My neighbor replaced the gas engin in a D-17 with one off of a Gleaner E. They were exactly the same except for a port that he had to put a plate over.
