I mentioned that the previous owner was a little hard of hearing to the point the rod let go and out the side of the block she went. The crankshaft has sufficient damage that it would have to be welded then reground to make it usable.
Past experience with crankshaft welding has not been good so I am reluctant to go that route. The block as a last resort could be welded and that is my fall back plan if all else fails.
I figured I would eliminate all other options first.
