What HP are the D14? What problems to look for when you are looking at one?

I paid $2900 for a D-14 3 yrs ago. It was always kept inside when not in use. Included in the price was a Model 14 loader, 2-14 plow, twin-wheel drive mower, misc. parts and filters. My son-in-law works for AGCO and said he had not seen any similar tractor in such good shape. I think I made a good deal!( Wife not so sure!!!)

I've always said my d-14 is 36 hp on the belt and 32hp on the drawbar. Great tractor! Mine has raked thousands of acres of hay over the years. Very easy to operate. My mom loves raking with it, and my grandmother still drives it to pick up bales for me if I run out of wagons and have to drop bale square bales. When looking to buy one, always look at the overall condition. That tells a lot. If it is clean, straight, and has decent tires, most likely this tractor is well taken care of. Also, check to be sure the low-to- high range clutch is working correct. This is where you get your live power for the pto. Up is low range for the transmission, middle is neutral for starting pto operated machines, and down is high range for the transmission. If it all seems to work well and the price is right to you, I say go for it.
