2 questions:
#1 is the battery positive or negative ground?
#2 is there a way to replace the fan belt without removing the water hose?

To answer your question it depends on if it has a generator or has been converted to an alternator Most all alt systems are neg ground but a generator doesnt care as long as the regulator and gen match (some regs wont work on pos ground if they and for neg only and vice versa)If its a gen system you can change it and polarize it to set the gen to the battery by momentarly jumping from the batt term on the regulator to the arm or gen term on the reg or the gen itself (its just a touch of the batt to the arm/gen terminal and it will spark but thats all it takes)With all this said if you change it from + to- or - to + ground then you will probably have to change the wires on the amp meter to show the different flow thru it (thats all the wires from one side to the other and vice versa) Hope this didnt confuse you and Good Luck Carl

#1..mine is a 6 volt POSITIVE ground.

#2..there is not a way to replace the belts without removing the bottom hose, just replaced mine 2 weeks ago,not too bad of a job.
