Everything you need to know about a tractor you just bought is contained in the OPERATOR manual- best source of info on operation and basic maintenance. Costs maybe 15 bucks.

FOr the engine, I would recommend 10W-30 for the type of work these older tractors see these days. I assume you won't be out plowing all day with the temp at 90 degrees. In fact, 10W30 would even be ok for that, plus it will be good at winter temps, too. Holds about 4 quarts, maybe 4.5 with filter change. Make sure you use an AGCO oil filter #70240912. If you use aftermarket, make sure you use one that's filled with cotton waste and is not a pleated paper filter. Oil pressure is not correct using the pleated paper filter. Also, make sure there is a long tube about 1/2 the diamater of a pencil that sticks up out of the oil filter base and up into the filter to the top. Many of these get accidentally pulled out of the base and thrown away with an old oil filter.
The transmission, differential, PTO, and hydraulic oil are all from one common reservoir. To completely drain the system, you need to remove three plugs....beneath the transmission, the PTO housing, and under the hydraulic pump control housing. System is refilled through the fill plug on the left side of the transmission below where your left foot rests when driving. Original owners manual calls for 20W nondetergent oil at temps above 45 degrees and 10W for below. However, the modern recommendation is for a universal trans-hydraulic oil such as AGCO 821XL. THey also have aftermarket brands at farm supply stores. Even Wal-Mart carries this oil at stores in more rural areas. Capacity is 8.75 quarts.
